Characterization of homoisoflavonoids in fresh and dried <i>Portulaca oleracea</i> L. by HPLC-DAD-ESIMS 2

In the study, three types of homoisoflavonoids were isolated from the roots of fresh <i>Portulaca oleracea</i> L. The electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectral fragmentation pathways of these compounds were proposed. The fragmentation rules were successfully applied for the analysis of the homoisoflavonoids of the fresh and dried <i>Portulaca oleracea</i> L. A total of 28 homoisoflavonoids were identified or tentatively characterized by HPLC-DAD-ESIMS2. There were no significant differences of homoisoflavonoids detected in this batch of dried and fresh herbs of <i>P. oleracea</i> L. More samples from various areas are needed to further compare the differences of homoisoflavonoids between them.
