Tecnologie digitali per la documentazione dell’architettura. La fortezza di Gardiki a Corfù
The paper proposes the results of investigations conducted on the Gardiki Fortress, a fortified structure dating back to the XII Century located in the south-western part of the island of Corfu. The Gardiki Fortress is a castle from the Byzantine period, located along the south-western coast of the island of Corfu and is one of the few remaining examples from the medieval period. Built on a hill near the town of Agios Matthaios, it was built at the behest of the Despotate of Epirus and, for a long time, formed a defensive element for the island before the Venetian invasion in the XIII Century. The contribution intends to define the possibilities of research on the topic of fortified architecture on ruined structures with graphic documentation and technical evidence of UAV instruments in relation to two- and three-dimensional representation. The research, conducted mainly with photogrammetric techniques and some surveys carried out with Lidar technology, has produced a series of papers that provide the necessary information for the protection and enhancement of the site.
