METAPHORICAL ASSOCIATIVE MAPS IN THE WORK OF A COACH AND PSYCHOLOGIST WITH STUDENT SPORTS TEAMS

Background. This article is a continuation of a series of studies on the use of metaphorical associative maps (MAM) in working with students. MAМ, being a relatively new, convenient and universal art therapeutic tool for stabilizing the psycho-emotional state, can help a coach and psychologist in interaction with student sports teams of colleges. Metaphor through visualization helps to achieve a therapeutic effect more quickly, which is very valuable during the preparatory and competitive periods. Our study involved 66 students aged 15 to 20 years who are members of the college national teams in volleyball (boys - 16 people and girls - 16 people), basketball (boys - 14 people), football (boys - 20 people). The use of MAМ accompanied by a coach and a psychologist demonstrated a faster therapeutic effect, helping to stabilize their psycho-emotional state, reduce anxiety, and normalize mood. Purpose – to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of MAМ in the work of a coach and psychologist with student sports teams to stabilize and improve the psycho-emotional state of students. Materials and methods. The study was conducted using a standardized diagnostic technique — psychological testing, and an additional survey was conducted of trainers and psychologists working with metaphorical associative maps. Results. The study showed that the use of MAM is an effective and convenient art therapeutic tool in working with sports teams, contributing to the stabilization and improvement of the psycho-emotional state of athletes. The data obtained confirm the scientific validity of the use of MAM in this area. EDN: FTUUUR
