Clinical, dermoscopic and histopathologic features of symmetrical melanomas: a single-center retrospective study
Background: Dermoscopy has proven to be a valuable tool in identifying melanomas through characteristic structures typically associated with chaotic and irregular lesions.[1] However, some melanomas lack such features and show symmetrical banal-looking dermoscopic findings.[2] The objective of this study was to characterize symmetrical melanomas that lack classic dermoscopic melanoma-specific structures, and analyze the reasons why these lesions were excised.
