Basal Cell Carcinoma in young adults: incidence and characteristics in a population under 40 years old

Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer, and annual rates of incidence continue to rise every year. It is interesting to see how the incidence is increasing among young patients, maybe due to higher awareness of Non Melanoma Skin Cancers (NMSCs). Despite heightened awareness and early detection, the size of BCCs in young individuals remains similar to that of the general population.
