The Transformation of Dependence Relationship and Anti-Domestication Practices in the “Be a Search Engine” Phenomenon of Rednote

From “Baidu it” to “When in doubt, turn to Rednote, there has been a new trend in Internet users’ information retrieval practices in recent years. The research reveals the mutual-construction logic of “people-content-algorithm” in the trend of social media search-engine-like transformation, and critically points out the dilemmas such as the information cocoon effect and cognitive narrowing that may be caused by the crowdsourcing of experiences. It provides a new thinking direction for the optimization of the information retrieval mechanism in the era of platform survival.
