Obesity as chronic endocrine disease

Obesity and Endocrinology, it is my privilege to introduce the inaugural issue of the new scientific journal of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) dedicated to the study of obesity.With the creation of this journal, the ESE aims to establish an interdisciplinary, open-access hub for high-quality clinical and translational research, along with comprehensive reviews and experts' opinions, covering all facets of obesity but with a particular emphasis on the endocrine aspects of this complex and relapsing disease.The Journal welcomes cutting-edge studies that advance the understanding and treatment of obesity, challenge conventional wisdom, propose novel hypotheses, and provide fresh insights.Establishing such a Journal is timely
