Effect of Thermally Treated Opoka Mixture on the Physical and Mechanical Properties of Silicate Bricks
In civil and industrial construction, reducing the thermal conductivity of building materials while maintaining sufficient strength is a relevant challenge. The aim of this work is to develop a new component composition of silicate brick that meets energy-saving requirements and to study its physical and mechanical properties. The study revealed the effect of thermally treated opoka mixture on the physical and mechanical properties of silicate brick. It was observed that as the proportion of thermally treated opoka mixture increases, the average density and thermal conductivity coefficient of the brick decrease while maintaining its strength. However, these changes do not negatively affect the overall properties of silicate brick. The results of the study provide opportunities to expand the application scope of silicate brick and enhance the energy efficiency of buildings and structures.
