Quo Vadis Regulasi Dan Penegakan Hukum Terhadap Peredaran Roti Yang Mengandung Zat Berbahaya
Research assesses the challenges related to the role of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) in ensuring the safety of products both pre- and post-market release. BPOM is responsible for subjecting these products to rigorous, repeated assessments prior to and after their release to the public, guaranteeing their safety for consumption. Additionally, BPOM is mandated to collaborate closely with government agencies and the general public to expedite the detection and elimination of illegal products. Upon identifying products that pose a significant risk to consumer health, BPOM is required to take swift and decisive actions, including revoking marketing authorizations, initiating product recalls, reassessing the safety of the products, destroying them, and enforcing applicable penal laws where necessary. To ensure optimal consumer protection, BPOM must maintain constant vigilance in monitoring both released and unreleased products, ensuring their safety for public consumption. Furthermore, BPOM has a duty to provide continuous updates on the safety status of products available to the public, keeping consumers informed and safeguarded. The conclusion is BPOM must always be consistent in conducting pre-market and post-market supervision to ensure that the ingredients used comply with those registered, in order to maintain consumer trust and prevent negligence.
