Deciphering Drawings: A Student Guide to Construction Documents

This paper discusses the development of an interactive electronic book that focuses on helping undergraduate engineering students to learn to read, interpret and work with engineering and construction drawings.The iBook is use the 3D imagery, construction drawings, shop drawings and photographs associated with the AISC Steel Sculpture.Included are the results of a survey asking department heads and chairs to comment on how important they feel this topic is and how well they are preparing their graduates in this area.
