Leader‐Follower Consensus of Parabolic Multi‐Agent Systems With Distributed Event‐Triggered Observation

ABSTRACT This paper explores the output feedback consensus problem of parabolic multi‐agent systems (MASs) while incorporating event‐triggered observations. To mitigate communication overhead and improve communication efficiency, the distributed observer with an event‐triggered mechanism is constructed. Drawing upon the observer state, the leader‐follower consensus control protocol for MASs is suggested. Utilizing the relative output information between the leader and follower, consensus can be achieved on any given undirected connection communication graph. Further, the well‐posedness of the closed‐loop system is confirmed. By employing a variation of the Lyapunov technique and mathematical inequalities, it is shown that the fulfillment of sufficient conditions for standard linear matrix inequality (LMI) ensures the leader‐follower consensus for MASs. In addition, it has been proven that the time interval between events is nonzero, eliminating the occurrence of Zeno behavior. Finally, the effectiveness of theoretical findings is verified through simulation examples.
