Editor's Note to: “p53-Dependent and p53-Independent Induction of Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 by Deoxyribonucleic Acid Damage and Hypoxia”

Following an inquiry by the journal instigated by a public allegation, the authors confirmed to the editors that the Northern blots shown in Figures 5B and6 are the same.The authors attest this was an unintentional error made while preparing files for publication: The two images were difficult to distinguish because they showed similar results from identical experiments run on two different cell lines (p53 +/+ H460 cells for Figure 5B and p53 -/-PC-3 cells for Figure 6).The authors state that the error does not change the scientific conclusions in the article.Raw data from the experiment are no longer available, so the authors are unable to provide corrected images.
