A Spatio-Temporal Fusion Localization Scheme Based on Carrier Phase Tracking

Existing carrier phase positioning (CPP) schemes primarily rely on phase difference of arrival (PDOA). However, without strict synchronization among base stations, the accuracy of PDOA-based positioning degrades significantly. To address this issue, we propose a novel CPP algorithm to reduce the need for synchronization and improve precision. We let each base station independently perform phase tracking on a moving target, exploiting the continuity of phase in the time domain. Simultaneously, the phase variations received by different bases should be spatially consistent. We jointly evaluate the phase properties in space-time to solve the problem of integer ambiguity, effectively reducing the need for clock synchronization. By analyzing these phase variation properties, we perform an asymptotic search to locate the target and obtain the best estimate. Simulation results prove the superiority of our algorithm.
