MIMO and RIS-Assisted Localization Method in 6G Terahertz Systems
6G terahertz technology is regarded as a crucial component for future networks because of its comprehensive frequency range. Terahertz systems can achieve unprecedented data rates and precision sensing. We study the terahertz signal through one transmitter along with a RIS and under conditions where the line-of-sight path is blocked, we can derive expressions for the channel-dependent parameters. Drawing on that, we get a two-stage algorithm to estimate the position of the user. The algorithm estimates the channel parameters based on the orthogonal matching pursuit of vectors under multiple carriers and finally recovers the distance and the angle of arrival of the user. Using the signal from the base station, we find that the target user can be accurately located through the RIS under obstructed line-of-sight paths.
