Design of Unburned Ammonia Emission Monitoring System for Marine Ammonia Low-Speed Engine

As a zero-carbon fuel, the application of ammonia is increasing in marine engines, however, excess unburned ammonia emissions significantly impact the performance of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) after-treatment system, leading to a substantial increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Real-time monitoring of unburned ammonia concentrations is critical for ensuring optimal combustion efficiency and effective emission control. This paper presents a high-precision, real-time online monitoring solution for unburned NH<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> emissions in exhaust gases from marine low-speed ammonia engines, utilizing the advantages of high-temperature laser technology. The objective is to optimize ammonia fuel utilization, mitigate the greenhouse effect, and enhance the overall performance of marine emission control systems.
