Invited Commentary to “Prevalence and Impact of Postoperative Sexual Dysfunction After Major Emergency Abdominal Surgery: A Prospective Cohort Study”
The publication of Dr. Warmbier Jensen and colleagues focuses on the question of the remaining sexual activity after substantial abdominal emergency surgeries [1].To clarify this question, the research group carried out a prospective data analysis at Copenhagen University Hospital-Herlev and Gentoftethe. The data were collected using the so-called Brief Sexual Symptom Checklist (BSSC).A small shortcoming is that the collection of data about sexual function prior to emergency surgery could naturally only be asked retrospectively.
