TCPN-based Resilience Evaluation of SFC with Dynamic Heterogeneous Redundant Structure Towards 6G Networks
Service Function Chain (SFC) makes easier and more convenient to compose on-demand service chains, which can serve the 6G's six use cases. Compared with 5G networks, resilience is first proposed in 6G networks, which puts higher service requirements on SFC. Different from security, privacy and trust, resilience focuses on ongoing service delivery. With the increasing adverse conditions such as security risks and random failures, the traditional methods are difficult to meet the resilience requirement, which needs to be solved urgently. Endogenous security technique based on Dynamic Heterogeneous Redundant (DHR) structure is a feasible method to empower the resilience ability of SFC. In this paper, we introduce the architecture and workflow of SFC with DHR structure (DHRSFC) and analyze its system failures. To prove its resilience ability, we design a resilience evaluation model based on Time Colored Petri Net (TCPN), which TCPN can accurately describe the response processes to system failures and time property. Evaluation results prove the excellent resilience performance of DHRSFC and can provide guidance for future research on DHRSFC.
