A Multi-Objective Optimization Based LEO Satellite Beam Hopping Resource Allocation Algorithm

In satellite communication systems, due to the characteristics of low-orbit satellites, such as their high mobility and extensive coverage, issues arise including uneven distribution of satellite terminal users in time and space, as well as significant variations in communication service types and traffic volumes. To satisfy diverse user demands, there is an urgent need for efficient and integrated allocation of limited resources within satellite communication systems. Currently, most resource allocation schemes for satellite communication systems are based on ground requests and focus on single-objective optimization for a specific type of resource allocation, lacking comprehensive consideration of integrated resource allocation. This paper proposes a resource allocation scheme for beam-hopping systems based on multi-objective optimization. In the process of modeling satellite communication scenarios, satellite resources are divided into three dimensions: time, frequency, and beam. The primary research focuses on timeslot resource allocation, incorporating multiple objective optimization functions. Additionally, given the interconnected and mutually constrained nature of frequency, power, and beam resources in hopped-beam systems, frequency and beam allocation strategies are introduced for holistic resource allocation and scheduling. Finally, under various ground terminal distribution scenarios, the system delay, throughput performance, and the impact of timeslot length on system performance are analyzed and verified.
