Efficient FPGA Implementation of Phase Offset Estimation and Compensation for 5G Based LEO Satellite Communication System
The integration of 5G technology with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems is crucial for the future of global wireless networks, offering extensive coverage and high data rates. In such systems, signals are susceptible to phase offsets due to factors like Doppler frequency shifts and phase noise, which necessitate the development of effective estimation and compensation algorithms. This paper presents an efficient FPGA-based phase offset estimation and compensation scheme for 5G LEO satellite communication systems. To address the challenges of Doppler frequency and phase noise in high-frequency band communications, a novel reference signal layout is devised, and circuit modules are realized using Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL). The proposed scheme proficiently estimates and compensates for phase offsets, thereby enhancing system performance.
