Study on Coherent Radiation Directivity Algorithm for Power Capacitor Tower in HVDC Converter Station

AC filters are one of the main sources of noise in DC converter stations. To control the noise in converter stations, the key is to reduce the noise level of AC filter capacitors. At present, there are various low-noise AC filter capacitors on the market, but the noise reduction effect of capacitors provided by different manufacturers varies greatly. Due to the lack of unified methods for measuring capacitor noise, the measurement results are not comparable, which poses difficulties for the selection of AC filtering capacitors. This article is based on a specialized multi harmonic current loading circuit for measuring capacitor noise, and studies the numerical calculation method of noise directionality. It also proposes a simulation calculation method for a typical converter station capacitor tower model.
