A Color Image Encryption Algorithm Based on Chaos Theory for R, G, B Cross Layer Uniform Shuffle

Chaotic maps, known for their sensitivity to initial conditions and unpredictability, are widely applied in fields such as secure encryption and communication transmission. This paper introduces a novel two-dimensional chaotic map based on the Singer map from chaos theory and the sine trigonometric function(2D-Sinsinger). Compared to some existing two-dimensional chaotic maps, 2D-Sinsinger exhibits superior ergodicity, hyper-chaotic properties, and unpredictability. Building upon 2D-Sinsinger, this paper designs a color image encryption algorithm (SinsingerIE). SinsingerIE is a novel encryption algorithm tailored for color images, distinct from previous methods involving confusion and diffusion processes. SinsingerIE employs two processes: R, G, B cross-layer shuffling and diffusion. The R, G, B cross-layer shuffling process further comprises two sub-processes: bit-plane-based R, G, B simple pixel shuffling and R, G, B cross-layer regional shuffling. The shuffling algorithm ensures uniformity in the mixing of three channels, significantly reducing the risk of leaking substantial valuable information due to the compromise of a single channel. In subsequent validation experiments, SinsingerIE demonstrates considerable advantages in encrypting large-scale color images, exhibiting excellent security performance compared to other encryption algorithms.
