Placement and Sizing Method Analysis for Distributed Renewable Energy in Distributed AC/DC Power System
With the increasing demand and proportion of distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) connected to the distributed AC/DC Power System, the issue of appropriate placement and sizing for distribution network evaluation has gained significant prominence. Proper placement of DRE in distributed AC/DC power system can mitigate power loss to enhance operation reliability. Currently, most placement indicators primarily focus on steady-state capabilities, such as active power loss and voltage distribution. However, the improved transient capacity of the distributed AC/DC power system is also an indicator that cannot be ignored. This paper presents analysis of the current mainstream DRE placement method that developed various types of indicators, along with a thorough examination of existing distributed AC/DC power system vulnerability node selection indices. It highlights the shortcomings of existing placement indicators and their inherent connection with vulnerability analysis in terms of both steady-state and transient placement. Simulation results demonstrate that the integration of DRE under this model can reduce node vulnerability, enhance recovery capabilities, and offer a novel perspective of DRE placement in distributed AC/DC power system.
