Dynamic Distributed Shared Memory: When&How?
Maintaining reliability and efficiency in dynamic distributed systems is challenging, especially with changing networked nodes due to workload shifts, network fluctuations, or system failures. Implementing a dynamic Distributed Shared Memory (DSM) service is not an exception. In DSM, a set of nodes (servers) maintain copies of memory data, and clients access the data by sending messages to these servers. The main challenge is ensuring system's reliability and performance when the set of those servers may change over time.
