Numerical study of hydrodynamics in the propulsion of untethered underwater robotic fish
This study explores the hydrodynamic behavior of untethered underwater robotic fish using high-precision computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The dynamic model considers key factors like fluid-structure interaction and hydrodynamic forces to simulate the fish’s swimming in different flow conditions. Using advanced methods like the immersed boundary method (IBM), the study offers detailed insights into swimming performance and the resulting flow patterns. The results emphasize the value of hydrodynamic simulations in improving the design of bioinspired robotic fish for applications such as environmental monitoring, exploration, and military reconnaissance, helping to develop more efficient and agile robotic systems for complex underwater environments.
