Fabrication of high-performance, periodic SERS structures for the detection of malachite green
We have developed a cost-effective, easily fabricated, stable, uniform, and large-area surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate. Ag nanopillars of varying diameters were fabricated on Si substrates, exhibiting high sensitivity, excellent uniformity, and good stability. Using Rhodamine 6G (R6G) molecules as an analyte, the maximum detection limit achieved was as low as 10-9 M. When applied to the detection of malachite green (MG), the proposed Ag nanopillar SERS substrate demonstrated a maximum detection limit of 10-9 M and exhibited a good linear relationship. This work provides an effective method for fabricating industrial SERS substrates, offering potential applications in medicine, food safety, and biotechnology.
