Remote sensing monitoring of vegetation coverage in the Muli coalfield mining area based on the soil-adjusted vegetation index
The continuous exploitation of Muli coalfield in Qinghai has seriously damaged its fragile ecological environment, making long-term monitoring of vegetation coverage in this area of great significance. This study utilizes Landsat TM/OLI data and selects the Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI) method for its superior performance to calculate vegetation coverage in the study area from 1990 to 2021, monitoring its dynamic changes and spatiotemporal patterns. The results of the dynamic monitoring indicate a degradation trend in vegetation coverage.
