Assessment of the Stability of the Base of the Shulba Gateway Using Remote Methods

The purpose of these studies was to identify discontinuous faults in the vertical geological and geophysical section, subsidence of soils, decompression of soils and rocks, stability of the base of the Shulba sluice, the presence of negative hydrogeological conditions, the presence of heaviness of soils, and clarification of the sources of locking of reinforced concrete structures. The following research methods were used: - reconnaissance of the territory of the Shulba gateway; - georadar examination of the lower platform, the upper head of the lock on the left and right banks, the coastline, the crane and crane platforms, studies of the threshold of the bottom of the lock in the area of the lower gate by leakage and filtration zones; - electrotomographic examination of problem areas identified by GPR examination. The results showed the need for soil stabilization and drainage measures, as well as groundwater control. Recommendations include the selection of sustainable backfill materials, installation of drainage and drainage systems, and regular monitoring and inspection. The study highlights the importance of an integrated approach to ensuring infrastructure stability and safety based on modern geotechnical engineering methods.
