Aim. To highlight the main biographical data and results of scientific and pedagogical activities of scientists who worked during the period of formation and development of the Department of Biochemistry. Main results. The history of the Department of Biochemistry of Odesa National University is described. Data on its foundation and scientists who worked at the department are presented. The main directions of scientific research of the department’s employees are characterized. Conclusions.
