Laboratory-Informed Chemical Solution for Condensate Banking Remediation: Successful Matrix Stimulation of Gas-Condensate Wells in Mexico

Abstract A laboratory investigation has led to a new approach for stimulation interventions in gas-condensate wells in Mexico. This method, developed with a thorough understanding of current reservoir conditions, addresses key factors affecting retrograde condensate damage. The primarily organic stimulation designs incorporate and optimize an advanced chemical additive to enhance flow through damaged porosity. Treatment results have shown the potential to mobilize condensate banks near the wellbore, thereby improving well productivity. The following outlines a newly developed workflow that enabled a successful stimulation intervention with customized chemical formulations and pumping schedules tailored to the specific needs of the reservoir or well.
