Investigating the Synergistic Effects of Nanoparticles on Unsteady Magnetohydrodynamic Pulsatile Blood Flow in Stenosed Arteries
Arterial stenosis, which leads to the narrowing of blood vessels, presents significant challenges for effective drug delivery and treatment. The use of nanoparticles in drug delivery systems offers a promising solution by enhancing the transport of therapeutic agents and improving blood flow dynamics. This study explores the potential of nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery in stenosed arteries, particularly under the influence of unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) blood flow. This research develops a comprehensive mathematical model that incorporates the equations governing fluid motion, Maxwell’s equations (electromagnetic fields) and Ohm's law (electrical conduction) to analyse the intricate interactions among Nanofluid flow, nanoparticle behaviour and applied magnetic fields. The governing equations are addressed using the Laplace transform method resulting in explicit analytical expressions for axial velocity, temperature and concentration distributions. These results are further illustrated through detailed graphical representations. Additionally, analytical expressions are obtained for the Skin Friction , Nusselt Number and Sherwood Number in Nanofluid Flow. The values of these quantities under different conditions can be found in Table 2. The results indicate that nanoparticle-enhanced drug delivery could significantly improve blood flow and thermal regulation in stenosed arteries, providing new therapeutic possibilities for treating conditions such as atherosclerosis.
