New records of the mimosoide clade (Caesalpinioideae, Leguminosae) for the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil
Abstract This is a taxonomic study of six species of the mimosoide clade (Caesalpinioideae, Leguminosae) that are new records for the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. It is based on botanical collections made in the municipalities of Alta Floresta, Apiacás and Novo Mundo, on the southern border of Amazonia, as well as an analysis of specimens deposited in the Amazônia Meridional Herbarium and images of exsiccatae in biodiversity repositories. We recorded the genus Macrosamanea for the first time for the state, which is represented by Macrosamanea pubiramea var. pubiramea. The new records also include Inga bourgonii, I. cinnamomea, I. duckei, I. huberi and Piptadenia pteroclada. All the species occur in the Amazonian domain or in a transition area between Amazonia and the Cerrado, in various vegetation types. Descriptions, illustrations, maps and comments about the geographic distribution of species and their affinities are provided.
