Optimizing Residential Solar Energy Usage through Hybrid On-Grid Solar PV System with PSO MPPT: An Implementation Study
This study focuses on developing a hardware prototype to optimize residential solar energy utilization. The research specifically proposes the design of a hybrid on-grid photovoltaic (PV) solar system using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) integrated with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). The hybrid system employs efficient MPPT through the combination of grid-connected and standalone solar PV components. The PSO MPPT algorithm enhances power generation and system performance. Experimental setup and hardware implementation demonstrate the system’s capability to maximize solar energy harvesting while maintaining grid connectivity. Results indicate that this prototype offers a functional and sustainable solution for residential energy efficiency, reducing reliance on conventional grid power sources and lowering energy costs.
