Axial Temperature Distribution Measurement of Glass Fiber Composite by Fiber Grating Helically Layered Implanted

In order to monitor the real-time axial temperature distribution of composite materials after high-temperature ablation, a method using an array of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) in a single-fiber optic cable spirally layered and implanted in a glass composite material plate was presented. The composite experimental specimen was prepared by pre-embedding optical fiber sensors and a vacuum hot-pressing process. Subsequently, temperature characteristic experiments were conducted. The results indicate that the experimental temperature gradient aligns with the finite element simulation, with a relative average error of 2.13% between them. The feasibility and practicality of the temperature measurement method were confirmed through an arc-heated wind tunnel experiment at approximately 1600 ° C and the finite element simulation. The results of the arc-heated wind tunnel experiments were consistent with the finite element simulation, with a relative average error of about 2.87% between them. This study offers relevant technical insights for the real-time monitoring of temperature distribution in composites after high-temperature ablation.
