(MICRO) POLICIES IN MODEL HIGH SCHOOLS: THE PRODUCTION OF MARGINALITIES
ABSTRACT This text aims to present some theoretical constructs regarding the relationship between school and democracy, outlined as a theoretical-conceptual framework of research intended to analyze the potential of schools in promoting child and adolescent protagonism. The starting point is the perspective of marginalization within the educational system, as proposed by Dermeval Saviani. Among the findings of the case study conducted in four Model High Schools in Pernambuco, Brazil, conceptions were developed regarding the marginalization driven by the educational system. It was found that these schools deliberately produce educational exclusion of students as a way to comply with the accountability demands of education policies, here conceived through the presentation of new forms of marginalization.
