APPLYING FINANCIAL DESIGN THINKING TO SOLVE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS
This article explores the application of financial design thinking to address global environmental challenges, particularly in the context of the challenges facing Ukraine. The essence and advantages of this approach, which combines creativity, analytics, and user-centeredness to develop innovative financial instruments, are analyzed. The possibilities of attracting private investment in environmental projects, optimizing existing financial products taking into account environmental aspects, and stimulating environmentally conscious consumption are considered. Key tools of financial design thinking are identified and a mechanism for its application is proposed. The experience of Ukraine in this area, as well as ways of improvement, including ensuring access to "green" financial instruments, expanding international cooperation, introducing insurance products, strengthening the educational component and using digital technologies, are generalized. The article presents a comparative analysis of traditional approaches to addressing environmental problems and the financial design thinking approach, highlighting the focus on users and their environmental needs, supporting innovation in environmentally friendly solutions, and assessing the effectiveness of financial products taking into account their impact on the environment. The mechanism of financial design thinking for solving global environmental problems is shown, which includes such stages as empathy, problem definition, idea generation, prototyping and testing, and implementation and evaluation. The study emphasizes integrating financial, social, and environmental instruments for sustainable solutions. Authors suggest improvements for Ukraine, including "green" finance access, international partnerships, insurance products for farmers, educational programs, blockchain for transparency, crowdfunding, and adapting global best practices. Applying financial design thinking to Ukraine's environmental challenges offers great potential, requiring financial and ecological literacy, new business models, investor engagement, and integration into state policy. This approach combines creativity, financial tools, and user understanding for sustainable solutions.
