THE DEVELOPMENT OF GRADE 6 CHINESE STUDENTS’ ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL USING SEEWOO APPLICATION WITH A COMMUNICATIVE TEACHING METHOD
Before and after using the Seewoo app with a communicative teaching method, this study looked at how well Chinese sixth-graders spoke English and how happy they were with using the Seewoo app with a communicative teaching method in Hunan Province, China. The sample group consisted of 50 grade 6 students. Quantitative data were collected through four lesson plans, a pre-test, a post-test, and a questionnaire and were analyzed using means, standard deviations, and paired sample t-tests. The data collection lasted for four weeks. The pre-test resulted in a mean of 22.21 (S = 1.98), while the post-test resulted in a mean of 23.12 (SD = 1.80), showing the students’ significant improvement in English speaking skills. The questionnaire data revealed that all items received high ratings. The majority of students in the sample group expressed satisfaction with using the Seewoo application with a communicative teaching method. This study yielded the benefits for primary English teachers with effective teaching and learning outcomes.
