Photoredox-catalyzed synthesis of sulfonated dihydrofurans from olefinic carbonyls through the insertion of sulfur dioxide

A photoredox-catalyzed sulfonylation of olefinic carbonyls with the insertion of sulfur dioxide is disclosed. This protocol enables efficient access to various sulfonated dihydrofurans with moderate to good yields.
