Development and Research of Technology for Manufacturing Sand-Resin Molds with a Reduced Binder Content Using Static Pressure
The demand of consumers to increase the efficiency of operation of cast parts of various equipment necessitates the development of new technological processes for the manufacture of castings. One of the important tasks currently facing the foundry industry is to improve the surface cleanliness of castings and reduce scrap due to foundry defects. Castings obtained by casting into shell molds have such properties. Sand-resin mixtures are used for their manufacture. Castings from such mixtures make it possible to obtain high-quality castings from various alloys. Their widespread use in industry is hindered by the relatively high cost of the binder, pulverbakelite. The use of molds from sand-resin mixtures ensures the production of high-quality castings. Increasing the efficiency of the casting process makes it necessary to improve the technology for manufacturing casting molds. In this regard, studies aimed at improving the technological processes for the manufacture of strong sand-resin molds with a decrease in the content of binder in the mixture, which do not worsen other parameters, are relevant.
