A FORMAÇÃO INTELECTUAL DE OSWALD DE ANDRADE: DA DISSONÂNCIA BURGUESA À BRASILIDADE REVOLUCIONÁRIA
The field of Social History focuses on the history of society as a whole, which includes the social history of the ideas that promote our forms of organization. One of the most important intellectual phenomena is the emergence of the Historical Vanguards, as a new sensitive arrangement marked by self-criticism and the rejection of aestheticist bourgeois values. This phenomenon produced a distinct impact on Latinized America, due to the specificity of its historical aspects marked by colonialism. Here, the vanguards gave rise to reflections on national problems and the revision of our identities, based on our ethnic origins in a primitivist aesthetic key, with the work of Oswald de Andrade as a landmark in Brazil. The objective of this text is to analyze the forms of his intellectual insertion, based on a survey of his training, as well as his activity and main interlocutors. Having as its horizon the constitution of a critical-nationalist imaginary partially disruptive of colonial hegemony and its continuities, identified with left-wing movements, and which would have shared with the right, in a bellicose way, the mission of outlining a new and genuine “Brazilianness”. To do this, I resort to the Gramscian idea that sees the intellectual with a relative organicity to his social class.
