Priorities for Nurse Managers
Nurse managers face an increasing burden due to the complexity of the health care system, resulting in misalignment of role influence, satisfaction, and turnover. To address this, it is imperative to optimize the role by aligning workload with skills while maximizing their well-being. This article presents the findings of a survey conducted among Chief Nursing Officers and nurse managers, providing valuable insights into 3 prioritized strategies to enhance nurse manager workload and wellbeing: create clear and flexible work for nurse managers, celebrate success in improving perceptions of safety, and take an interprofessional approach to enhancing health care leader work and wellbeing.
