MODEL OF THE IMPACT OF WAR FACTORS ON THE LEVEL OF SEXUAL WELL-BEING IN COUPLES
The article presents the results of a study dedicated to the development of a theoretical model examining the impact of socio-psychological factors of war on the level of sexual well-being in couples. The relevance of this study is determined by the lack of in-depth scientific research describing the internal processes occurring within couples under the influence of war and their connection to sexual relationships. For the first time, the study introduces a multifactorial theoretical model that considers the influence of war on sexual well-being in couples. The model accounts for various personal characteristics of partners, including characterological traits (actual abilities based on the method of positive psychotherapy), gender-role identity, sexual script, mechanisms of stress transmission and coping within the couple, the impact of stress on the development of sexual dysfunction, and the determinants of sexual well-being. Chronic stress that remains unprocessed by individual and dyadic coping mechanisms increases the risk of psychogenic sexual dysfunctions and negative psycho-emotional states such as anxiety and depression. In turn, the set of individual and dyadic coping strategies is determined by the patterns of gender-role identity of the individual, which experiences significantly increased strain under the stress of war. Relationship deterioration is considered an additional stress factor, which also serves as a predictor of sexual disorders. The proposed model identifies three key determinants of sexual well-being: the presence or absence of sexual dysfunctions, the quality of the relationship between partners, the ability to implement a sexual script under new circumstances. Future research may focus on testing the proposed model through its application in psychological support practices for couples experiencing sexual life deterioration due to war. Empirical validation of the model and analysis of correlations between its components also remain promising areas for further study.
