A Web-based Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Management System Design for College Students
Developing student innovation projects is necessary effectively manage project work and other activities related to innovation and college student entrepreneurship projects. However, the existing project management systems show more complexity in implantation. The proposed research focused on developing a web based project management system using browser-server structure. The system reduces the amount of stress put on students while at the same time enabling real-time monitoring, submission, approval, and sharing of projects straight from any place. The system’s design is structured into three layers: Presentation Layer (UIL), Business Logic Layer (BLL) and a Data Access Layer (DAL). System testing mainly aimed to check the functionality of the application, stress testing for its performance in high load situations and evaluating the scalability. The system is an enhancement of the conventional methods of handling and issuing student assignments through manual and paper work which is time consuming and increases administration of the program rather than encouraging students’ creativity. The application integration tools and work progress management features showed that the system passed all the test cased and also improved system’s capabilities.
