Word Recognition: A Comparative Study of Physical and Digital Media and Their Influence on improving QURAN Reading

This paper deals with a test conducted on 110 people to measure the ability to recognize the words of the Qur’an through 3 different media: 1-the traditional Qur’an page, 2-the interactive phone application (Alwah), in which the words are separated, and 3-(Alwah) printed model printed. The study aims to show which of these methods has the ability to improve the reading skills through recognizing and remembering the form of a word. Through memorization and repetition, then testing the words he recognized. Participants were asked to recognize 12 words (represented by the first verse of Surat Al-Bayyinah) after being repeatedly taught 3 times, then 6 times, then 9 times, and finally 12 times. The number and percentage of words recognized were recorded for each participant. The results showed that (Alwah) printed model was superior to the other two methods in achieving a recognition rate for more words and a lower number of repetitions. In addition, there was no significant difference between the groups.
