Profit Sharing Game for Metaverse Applications

Many foresee the Metaverse as the next evolutionary step of the internet, a perspective underscored by the volume of research surrounding it. Within the scope of this research, numerous Metaverse applications, especially those incorporating blockchain technology and immersive 3D worlds, necessitate considerable processing power and resources. Some Metaverse enthusiasts are inclined to offer their computing resources in exchange for rewards. This paper unveils a profit-sharing model anticipated to be foundational in numerous Metaverse platforms. Within this model, a plethora of processing tasks exist, each with its designated reward. Users eager to contribute their resources can select a task, aiming for the highest possible reward. However, if a task attracts multiple users, the resulting reward undergoes an equitable split. The overarching objective is the amplification of cumulative user rewards. Our findings indicate that even when users act primarily out of self-interest, the outcome achieved is no less than half of the ideal communal benefit. Further, prove that the optimal allocation of users is always Nash equilibrium and we propose an algorithm to find the optimal allocation.
