Fungicide Comparison for Foliar Disease Management in Corn in Vincennes, Indiana, 2024
Foliar diseases such as gray leaf spot caused by Cercospora zeae-maydis, tar spot caused by Phyllachora maydis, and southern rust caused by Puccinia polysora can lead to significant losses in corn in the United States. This report evaluates 10 fungicide programs for the management of these foliar diseases on corn ( Zea mays ‘P0574AMXT’). The trial was conducted in 2024 in a research field in Vincennes, IN. Disease severity, harvest moisture, test weight, and yield were collected for each treatment. The results from this study will help corn growers to select optimum fungicide programs to manage these three important diseases in corn.
