Research on The Firing of a Low-Quality Molybdenum Product with Sodium Carbonate
The experiment was carried out on the copper-molybdenum ore of the Shatyrkul-Zhaysan cluster. The Shatyrkul field is located in the Shuisky district of Zhambyl region (Republic of Kazakhstan), 35 km east of the Birlik station and is one of the sites of the Shatyrkul-Zhaysan cluster. To conduct research on the firing of molybdenum industrial products, a molybdenum industrial product with a yield of 0.07%, with a molybdenum content of 22.23% and extraction of 74.91% from copper-molybdenum ore was developed. The development of a rational method for extracting molybdenum from poor raw materials would significantly expand the raw material base, increase the extraction of molybdenum into final products, thereby reducing its losses. Studies have been conducted on the firing of industrial products with sodium carbonate and subsequent hydrometallurgical processing. Laboratory studies have revealed that a change in the firing temperature has a significant effect on the extraction of molybdenum into solution. With an increase in the firing temperature from 500 to 650°C, the extraction of molybdenum into the solution, during the leaching of the stub, increases from 92.08 to 97.73%.
