Security Enhancements in Edge-Based Healthcare with Lightweight Encryption & NDN Integration
The burgeoning field of edge-based remote healthcare demands innovative security solutions to protect sensitive patient information while maintaining operational efficiency. This review paper explores the development and enhancement of security frameworks through the implementation of lightweight encryption techniques, specifically designed to mitigate computational overhead in resource-constrained environments. Furthermore, the integration of Named Data Networking (NDN) technology within these frameworks is examined, highlighting its potential to fortify security protocols, reduce communication costs, and achieve higher throughput. Utilizing the Automatic Verification of Web Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA) tool, which provides an exhaustive assessment of the effectiveness of various combined approaches, the success of such methods is evaluated. By synthesizing recent advancements and evaluating their practical implications, this paper aims to present a thorough overview of current strategies and future directions in securing edge-based remote healthcare systems.
