Enhancing Efficiency and Voltage Gain in EV Charging Systems: Advanced Control of LLC Resonant Converters with ReLyO Model

Background: Due to the rise in the usage of electric vehicles (EVs) across the globe, public charging facilities have become a crucial aspect of the transportation industry. The LLC resonant converter is a type of power conversion technology known for its high efficiency, high power density, and flexibility in operating across a wide output voltage range. However, standard LLC resonant converters face issues such as low efficiency at full power and large transformer volume due to broad output voltage specifications. Methods: This paper presents an advanced control model for LLC resonant converters used in EV charging systems, incorporating the Remora Levy Optimizer (ReLyO). This innovative approach addresses the primary issues found in conventional LLC resonant converters. The ReLyO control model enhances voltage regulation and minimizes losses, aiming to achieve high voltage gain and up to 99% efficiency. Results: The proposed ReLyO-controlled converter is thoroughly validated and compared with conventional methods in terms of voltage regulation and loss analysis. The results indicate significant improvements in power conversion efficiency and overall performance. The ReLyO model proves to be effective in advancing the efficiency of EV charging systems, providing a reliable and high-performance charging framework. Concluding Remarks: The research highlights the potential of the ReLyO-controlled LLC resonant converter to modernize existing EV charging systems, accommodating the increasing market scale and growing needs. The findings demonstrate the model's ability to achieve high efficiency and voltage gain, thus contributing to the development of dependable and efficient EV charging infrastructure.
