Structural Transformation and Resilience of the Indian Economy (2014-2019): A Novel ESRS (Economic Sectoral Resilience Score) Based Input-Output Network Analysis
This research investigates the structural transformation and resilience of the Indian economy during the period from 2014 to 2019. By constructing and analyzing Input-Output (IO) tables for these years using the industry technology assumption, the study provides an in-depth examination of the evolving intersectoral dynamics. Utilizing Social Network Analysis (SNA), the research uncovers the intricate relationships and interdependencies among various economic sectors. Additionally, the study introduces a novel Economic Sectoral Resilience Score (ESRS), which leverages the Entropy Weight Method (EWM) to quantitatively evaluate the resilience of different sectors to economic shocks. The findings h ighlight s ignificant sh ifts in the economic structure and a fall in average sectoral resilience over the five-year period.
