Enhancing Smart Home Accessibility for People with Disabilities

In this project, an advanced IoT-based smart home system is presented, designed to enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The primary objective is to create an intuitive and user-friendly environment by integrating touchless switches and adaptive control devices. Utilizing gesture recognition technology, the system allows users to operate household appliances and lighting with simple hand waves, eliminating the need for physical contact. Additionally, the project incorporates the Lip Sync device, a mouth-controlled mouse, enabling users with limited hand mobility to navigate and control devices using lip movements and breath control. This innovative approach not only improves the quality of life for people with disabilities but also sets a new standard for inclusive smart home technology. Through this project, the potential of IoT solutions to create adaptive living spaces for individuals with disabilities is demonstrated.
